Q. I have been told it is very expensive to build on a hill. Is this really the case?
A. Sites at Westmorland Heights are mostly gently sloping, which helps to keep the costs of construction down. Many people build either (A) Single storey houses or (B) homes with garages underneath the house, with option (B) the garage is also the foundation, so costs are quite reasonable.
Q. Will geotech engineering reports be available?
A. The new sites at Westmorland Heights will be developed under qualified Geotech engineers and certificates will be provided.
Q. Is the wind a problem at Westmorland Heights?
A. Most of the sites have a North to West aspect which means your designer should be able to easily provide a design which takes advantage of the views, while providing shelter from the colder easterly winds.
Q. What is resale value like at Westmorland Heights?
A. Resale value is very good at Westmorland. It is a well-established suburb with quality housing, well designed houses attract buyers readily. In a number of cases, residents are living in their second or third house they have built at Westmorland; there are also a number of multi-generational families living here.
